This review volume introduces the novel intelligent Web theory called computational Web intelligence (CWI) based on computational intelligence (CI) and Web technology (WT). It takes an in-depth look at hybrid Web intelligence (HWI), which is based on artificial biological and computational intelligence with Web technology and is used to build hybrid intelligent Web systems that serve wired and wireless users more efficiently. The basic principles of CWI and various e-applications of CWI and HWI are discussed. For completeness, six major CWI techniques — fuzzy Web intelligence, neural Web intelligence, evolutionary Web intelligence, granular Web intelligence, rough Web Intelligence and probabilistic Web intelligence — are described. With the huge potential for intelligent e-business applications of CWI and HWI, these techniques represent the future of intelligent Web applications. * This hands-on guide covers various real-world scenarios for developing and administering portals created with DotNet Nuke, the ASP.NET-based solution for quick and efficient building of Microsoft ASP.NET Web sites * Written by the creator and programmers of the DotNetNuke project * Features step-by-step instructions on administering DotNetNuke and applying it in various real-world situations * Discusses some of the more common issues that developers are likely to face when setting up DotNetNuke, such as Webfarms, capacity planning, and databases * Covers the new DotNetNuke version 3.0 and examines key differences between it and the older 2.4 release Learn JavaScript by Chuck Easttom takes a practical approach to demonstrating how to enhance web pages using JavaScript. Written specifically for those who are new to JavaScript, the book begins with introductions to HTML and JavaScript and progresses through the process of developing a fully functional commercial web site. As new concepts are introduced, they are thoroughly explained and then applied to the web site project. Along the way, the reader learns about such topics as the Document Object Model, JavaScript objects, hyperlinks, date and time, strings, and dynamic menus. The book also explains how to create simple games using JavaScript and includes a chapter on tips and tricks. The appendixes contain command references for HTML and JavaScript, and a listing of online resources for further study.

is a valuable learning resource and reference. Focusing on the core
language rather than on any specific application, this book teaches how
to write clear, efficient VBScript code. Whether developing for the
Web, automating Windows, or customizing Microsoft Outlook, this book
will help the reader do a better job. Though it caters to new users, VBScript
is mainly a reference book. Each piece of the core VBScript
specification (plus the Dictionary and FileSystemObject objects that
make up the Microsoft Scripting Runtime) is described in an
alphabetized entry. For each statement, function, operator, and object,
the book gives a quick description of the element's syntax, concise
rules of its proper use, information on returned values (if any), and
some examples of the language element used correctly in practice. Two
additional sections on each language element will be valuable to
novices and anyone stumped by errors: a "Rules at a Glance" section
that documents correct usage, and a section called "Programming Tips
& Gotchas" that highlights common mistakes.
The Internet, with its profusion of information, has made us hungry for
ever more, ever better data. Out of necessity, many of us have become
pretty adept with search engine queries, but there are times when even
the most powerful search engines aren't enough. If you've ever wanted
your data in a different form than it's presented, or wanted to collect
data from several sites and see it side-by-side without the constraints
of a browser, then Spidering Hacks is for you.
Spidering Hacks
takes you to the next level in Internet data retrieval--beyond search
engines--by showing you how to create spiders and bots to retrieve
information from your favorite sites and data sources. You'll no longer
feel constrained by the way host sites think you want to see their data
presented--you'll learn how to scrape and repurpose raw data so you can
view in a way that's meaningful to you.
